Responding to the Sumatra Flood Disaster
In response to the devastating floods and landslides that struck Sumatra in late 2025, Bakti Barito Foundation—together with Barito Pacific Group and its business units—mobilized a coordinated emergency response to support affected communities across Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.
Through collective action and strong collaboration with government agencies, humanitarian partners, and local organizations, we delivered critical assistance to families displaced by one of the most severe natural disasters in recent years.
A Unified Emergency Response
The floods displaced nearly one million people, destroying homes, disrupting livelihoods, and limiting access to basic necessities. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, Barito Pacific Group activated a unified relief effort involving its subsidiaries, including:
Chandra Asri Group
Star Energy Geothermal
Petrindo Jaya Kreasi (including Petrosea)
Indo Raya Tenaga
Aid distribution was carried out in coordination with the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), Karang Taruna, the National Zakat Collection Agency (BAZNAS), and relevant ministries to ensure support reached the most isolated and severely impacted communities.
Shelter & Temporary Housing
With hundreds of thousands forced to leave their homes, access to safe shelter became an immediate priority.
We provided large-scale emergency tents to serve as temporary housing for displaced families, offering protection, dignity, and a sense of security during the early stages of recovery.
Food Security & Essential Needs
To safeguard health and prevent further hardship, emergency aid packages were distributed containing:
Rice and staple food supplies
Instant noodles
Clean water and mineral water
Medical supplies
Hygiene essentials, including diapers and sanitary products
These provisions were designed to meet urgent daily needs while reducing health risks in evacuation centers.
