Partnership to Accelerate Stunting Reduction in Indonesia
Alongside partners, Bakti Barito Foundation has been working to reduce childhood stunting primarily caused by chronic malnutrition during pregnancy and early childhood. The work includes training community health workers, conducting community-based awareness campaigns, and improving access to and quality of health and nutrition-based services to remote areas–steps shown to reduce the prevalence of stunting.
While Indonesia has made excellent progress to reduce childhood stunting over the past 10 years, bringing the rate down to 21.5% in 2023 from 37.2% in 2013. Going further, Indonesia has pledged to reduce its stunting prevalence to 10% by 2030.

Protecting Indonesia’s Children
The Indonesian government is working with Bakti Barito Foundation and partners to meet this goal through a powerful new collaborative partnership called Partnership to Accelerate Stunting Reduction in Indonesia (PASTI).
Through broad partnerships, a commitment to funding and working in a vast scale, PASTI brings local communities together with the Ministry of National Development Planning and five leading businesses and foundations: United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Tanoto Foundation, Amman Mineral, Bank Central Asia, and Bakti Barito Foundation.
