
Erwin Ciputra

Erwin Ciputra is the President Director of Chandra Asri Group, Indonesia’s largest integrated petrochemicals company, and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Bakti Barito Foundation, the philanthropic arm connected to the Barito Pacific Group. In these dual roles he aligns corporate strategy with a commitment to community and environmental stewardship, pairing Chandra Asri’s industrial leadership with philanthropic investments that support local livelihoods, coastal and mangrove programs, and community development.
As President Director, Erwin oversees Chandra Asri’s full business portfolio and leads the company’s sustainability and safety agendas as it expands and modernizes its operations. Under his leadership the company has navigated mergers and strategic expansions while strengthening ESG frameworks and community programs that seek to balance commercial performance with environmental and social outcomes.
Erwin serves on a number of boards across the broader Barito Pacific Group. He is President Commissioner at Petrindo Jaya Kreasi, a Commissioner at Petrosea, and Commissioner at Star Energy Group Holdings.
Before his current appointment, Erwin managed Chandra Asri’s Finance Department as Vice President Director from 2004 to 2007 and Barito Pacific’s Corporate Planning Department from 2003 to 2004. Earlier in his career he worked as an advisor for Petrokimia Nusantara Interindo and gained international finance experience in New York with firms including JP Morgan Securities, TIAA-CREF Asset Management, and Prism Capital Partners.
Erwin received a Bachelor of Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1996.
