Electrification for Low-Income Households

Star Energy Geothermal’s Electrification Program expands access to clean and reliable energy in rural West Java, directly benefiting over 875 low-income households.

By providing sustainable power to communities surrounding its operations, the program plays a key role in accelerating the transition to cleaner, more resilient energy across the region.

The program is anchored by two flagship initiatives that go beyond electrification to strengthen local capacity and well-being. The BURUKEN (Bumi Runtah Token) initiative empowers residents to convert organic and inorganic waste into income-generating products, with the proceeds used to purchase electricity tokens—turning waste management into a driver of energy access.

Complementing this is MASAGI (Maca Sakali Ngarti), a literacy program that cultivates reading comprehension and lifelong learning among children and adults, fostering social development alongside sustainable electrification.
