Eco-Friendly Mushroom Cultivation

Since 2018, Star Energy Geothermal Wayang Windu (SEG WW) has invested in the innovative training and empowerment of local residents through the BURAMLI (Villa Mushroom Agrifarm) program, successfully integrating smallholder farmers and residents into the sustainable oyster mushroom value chain.

Production cost efficiency, including annual fuel savings of up to Rp 37.8 million, is achieved by innovating the cultivation process to utilise clean, direct geothermal heat for high-energy processes like baglog sterilization.

The program has diversified its revenue through marketing incubation seeds and processed products, such as the widely-known mushroom-based pempek with the trademark “Jampe Nini” (Jamur Pempek nikmat nian or Very Delicious Mushroom Pempek). Total revenue across all mushroom business lines has reached Rp 42.5 million per month.

Furthermore, SEG is proud of the program’s commitment to the circular economy. Innovation in waste management resulted in the CADUBAR process, recycling 12 tons of baglog waste and mushroom tubers annually to produce 12 tons of organic fertilizer. This organic fertiliser is then applied to local pumpkin gardens, closing the loop on production.
