Livestock Farming for a Prosperous and Self-Sufficient Community (BERSERI)

The BERSERI program—an abbreviation for Farming for a Prosperous and Independent Community—is a key community empowerment initiative led by Chandra Asri Group.

It focuses on promoting sustainable and economically independent sheep farming. The program provides technical guidance, such as through the “Technical Guidance Module for Beginner Sheep Farmers,” to equip participants with the skills needed for successful livestock management.

BERSERI offers comprehensive guidance for profitable and sustainable sheep farming. The program focuses on generating main products like meat and breeding stock, while maximizing value through byproducts like manure, which can be processed into organic fertilizer and planting media.

This initiative teaches essential practical skills, including disease management, estimating a sheep’s age by its teeth, and producing preserved feed like silage. By leveraging the high demand for sheep in Indonesia’s culinary and religious markets, BERSERI helps participants achieve sustainable economic independence.
