AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria disease prevention and control in Mimika
Infectious diseases such as AIDS, Tuberculosis (TB), and Malaria remain critical public health challenges that threaten to undermine the development and future potential of vulnerable communities, particularly in Mimika Regency.
To tackle this issue, Petrosea launched a comprehensive ATM Prevention and Control Program. By building strong, cross-sector partnerships with the Mimika District Health Office, the local Malaria Center, PT Freeport Indonesia, and grassroots community health networks, we delivered targeted health interventions directly to endemic areas like the Nayaro and Mandiri Jaya villages.
This multifaceted effort included Indoor Residual Spraying and community-led mosquito habitat eradication, early-detection TB screenings, the distribution of vital nutritional packages to patients, and localized hygiene education programs reaching hundreds of schoolchildren. Through this powerful synergy and precision intervention, the initiative successfully drove down the number of malaria cases in our operational areas to just 2%, while equipping local residents with the essential resources and knowledge needed to break the chain of infection and build a healthier, more resilient future.
